- Administers the activities of various divisions within the department.
- Manages and directs staff in the execution of division goals and objectives.
- Manages the development and implementation of projects, priorities and policies with citywide impacts.
- Establishes and implements communication plans for recruitment, expansion, entrepreneurial service and programs.
- Develops and implements strategies, policies, and programs that promote inclusive growth.
- Develops, deploys and continuously improves incremental programmatic integrations in cross-divisional, cross-functional collaboration within the department, and partners' agencies.
- Coordinates with inter-departmental and inter-agency partners to devise new modes of deploying economic development incentives and services.
- Plans, prepares and monitors annual work plan and administers the division budget.
- Prepares and makes presentations to public committees, City Commissions and community groups.
- Interviews, selects, supervises, develops, evaluates, counsels, and if necessary, disciplines personnel according to established COSA guidelines.
- Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Business, Economics, Business Administration or related field.
- Eight (8) years of increasingly responsible experience in business or economic development to include four (4) years of supervisory or management experience.
- Master's Degree from an accredited college of university with major coursework in Business, Economics, Business Administration or related field.
- Experience with small business supplier engagement programs including vendor outreach and capacity building.

- Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.

- Ability to direct and manage multiple projects in fast paced and high pressure environment.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City staff and officials, other government officials, community
