Senior Control Systems Engineer positions administer and supervise the Automation and Process Control group for the Public Utilities Department; operate and maintain the Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Department Information Network (DIN), Facility Information Network (FIN), and the Process Information Network (PIN); review designs and standardization of the control systems within and between facilities; evaluate and oversee the design, development, implementation, and testing of systems related to area of responsibility; develop and implement system enhancements to improve reliability and performance; prepare reports and correspondence; interview, train, evaluate, and rate subordinates; and perform other duties as assigned.

NOTES :

• Employees in job classifications represented by Municipal Employees Association (MEA) are scheduled to receive the following general wage increase : 5% effective 7 / 1 / 25
• Eligible benefited employees originally hired on or after July 10, 2021, will be automatically enrolled in the San Diego City Employees Retirement System (SDCERS).
• Senior Control Systems Engineer employees with valid State of California registration as a Professional Control Systems Engineer are eligible for 31% additional pay.

EXPERIENCE : Four years of full-time professional industrial engineering project management experience which MUST include supervisory and managerial duties.
