The City is seeking skilled part-time Multi-Media Specialists to manage and produce multimedia content that supports our communication goals. This includes social media management, photography and video content creation, video production, and website updates. Definition: Operates a variety of audio-visual production, audio-visual playback and webcasting equipment for the City of San Leandro's Public Education & Government (PEG) television channel broadcasts; conducts live broadcasts of public meetings, playback of previously recorded meetings, archiving of all meeting recordings; responsible for all City audio-visual systems providing PEG content broadcasting; and performs additional work related to the duties of this position as required. Schedule is event driven and consists primarily of evening meetings but may contain additional daytime hours if situations arise.
Supervision Exercised and Received: The position does not have any supervisory duties. Receives general supervision from the Information Services Manager.
Essential Functions: The essential functions of the classification may include, but are not limited to, the functions below and are subject to changes in operational necessity.
- Operates video cameras in the Council Chamber and other video and audio equipment for live and playback broadcasts;
- Integrates appropriate text and graphics into live and/or pre-recorded productions;
- Operates, monitors, and adjusts microphones, video/audio mixers, control panels and cable TV modulators;
- Provides technical support for issues with audio-visual equipment including but not limited to video cameras, projectors, switches, control panels, voting systems and displays/monitors and also escalates issues to the appropriate vendor for resolution;
- Delivers live webcasts and other live/archived streaming media content to both internal and external customers via the City's website and cable channel;
- Captures and edits video footage using industry standard software on a Windows platform

Experience and Education Guidelines: Any combination equivalent to experience and education that would most likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Education: High school diploma or certified equivalent (GED) and college coursework in broadcasting, electronic media or a closely-related field.
Experience: One year of experience as a technician in a television broadcast and video production environment. Webcasting experience and working in a government access channel environment are desirable.
