Purpose of Classification:
The Box Office Manager will manage all ticketing operations as a key audience development tool for events at The Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center. This position will control all ticket inventories and oversee the processing of orders and payment. Utilizing ticketing software, the Box Office Manager will create ticketing for events and financial reports; manage and participate in the development and administration of an annual budget; direct the forecast of additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials and supplies; and direct and monitor expenditures. The Box Office Manager is responsible for the selection, training, motivation and evaluation of all Box Office personnel, and the management of all aspects of customer service related to internal and external customers. Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center consists of a 1,100-seat Byers Theatre, 400-seat Studio Theatre, Outdoor City Green and the Heritage Entertainment Lawn.
Essential Functions:

Builds all events in the ticketing system, including seating manifests, price tables, holds/kills, discounts, pre-sales, etc.
Oversees all financial reconciliation regarding daily reports, monthly reports, and event settlement.
Acts as systems administrator for ticketing system and liaison between staff, promoters, presenters and the facility.
Updates and relays all box-office related event information to each department and clients.
Investigates and resolves ticket-related issues.
Works with rental clients and marketing department to set up various ticket discounts and promotions.
Ensures compliance to all relevant ticket laws, data handling standards, and industry best practices.
Tracks attendance for all events, including pre-sales, walk-ups, promotions, discounts, etc.
Manages all aspects of customer service.
Plans, directs, evaluates, and provides leadership for Box Office personnel.
Maintains competency and professional development through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, and attending training and/or courses.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships
Analyzes challenges, identifies alternative solutions, projects consequences of proposed actions, and implements recommendations in support of organizational objectives.
Comprehends and makes inferences from written sales materials.
Makes basic arithmetic calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) either manually or through the use of a calculator.
Works a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, extended (long) workdays and extended numbers of days.
Exercises confidentiality and integrity upon handling personal and financial customer information.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business management, administration, theater management, arts administration, or other related field; Four (4) years of increasingly responsible box office/ticketing experience, preferably with a performing arts facility; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities: Knowledge of operational characteristics, services, and activities of a theater or performing arts center. ticketing software and practices. Knowledge of terminology used in box office/sales settings. Knowledge of principles of budget preparation and control. Knowledge of basic math and accounting. Knowledge of a variety of office equipment such as photocopiers, credit card processing machines, ticket printers, and multi-line telephone systems. Skill in ticketing software, Microsoft Office applications and word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation, PowerPoint and Internet software. Skill in communication, both verbally and in written form. Ability to work beyond normal business hours as required, based on event calendar. Ability to use personal computer and software applications for creating spreadsheets, correspondence, presentations, reports, databases, etc. Proficient in spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
