Description
Receives direction from the Recreation Director, Supervisor, and provides general supervision of the Pool staff, candidates selected for these positions will perform a variety of duties including but not limited to : organizing and conducting a well-balanced aquatic program at the Sanger City Pool, lifeguard during recreation swim hours, supervise pool deck, enforce regulations, supervise and schedule all pool personal, establish emergency procedures for the staff, assist with pool maintenance, attend staff meetings and service training programs, and perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications & Examples of Duties
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be :
Education : Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Age : 18 years
Experience : At least 3 years experience in lifeguarding or aquatic managerial position
Certification : Prior to start of program employee must possess a valid :
- American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certificates
- WSI Certificates
- YMCA Lifeguarding Certificates or other nationally recognized lifeguarding certificate
- Title 22 First Aid Certification
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Note : This position is a seasonal summer position. Work schedule will be flexible but may include weekends, evenings, and / or early mornings.
