The City of Santa Fe Springs is seeking applicants for the position of Library Information Desk Assistant. This position is an hourly / non-benefited position. The candidate selected to fill this position is expected to work approximately 20-25 hours per week during days, nights, and / or weekends. Examples of work shifts include; Monday - Friday (8am-5pm), Monday - Friday (11am-8pm), and Saturdays (8am-5pm).
Library Services Division : The Library Services Division of the Community Services Department is responsible for the development, implementation, and planning of cultural and educational events and programs. Library events include our award-winning First Friday cultural event series, an annual Great Gatsby night for local students, holiday programs, a Summer Reading program for all ages, and other cultural events. Library Services is also responsible for the educational component at the City's Heritage Park. Incumbent will be placed as needed at one of the following locations : Santa Fe Springs Library, Heritage Park, or William C. Gordon Learning Center.
POSITION PURPOSE :
Under direct supervision, assists Librarians with the day-to-day operation of the Library including circulation, reference, material processing, special programming, public computer assistance and outreach.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED :
Receives direct supervision from a Librarian.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED :
None.
