LOCATION: City of Saratoga Springs – Department of Public Works
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The following qualification(s) MUST be met and clearly detailed on the application form on or before the last filing date:
- Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and two (2) years of full-time paid experience that involved maintaining records and counting inventory OR
- Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and two (2) years of full-time paid experience that involved the assembly and dis-assembly of electronic and/or electrical equipment or the repair of mechanisms containing small parts.
SPECIAL NOTES:
- Must possess a current and valid NYS driver’s license and must maintain throughout the duration of employment.
- Physical requirements: walking for long periods of time, standing for long periods of time, bending, lifting approximately 30 pounds, climbing stairs and working outside in all weather conditions.
DUTIES: This position exists in the City Water Department and involves responsibility for reading water meters, recording amounts of water consumption, meter installation, repair and maintenance duties. The work is performed under the direct supervision of the Water Meter Service Worker Supervisor following prescribed procedures. The incumbent does related work as required.
