Position Summary
The Recreation Assistant will provide assistance and support to the Recreation Coordinator on summer event, playground camp, and sports camp program preparation. Leadership and interaction with other team members and the public is a key component of this position.
Anticipated Hiring Range : $22.80 / hour - $24.66 / hour
Complete Compensation Range : $22.80 / hour - $30.03 / hour
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Assists in the implementation of recreation programs and ensures a safe, friendly, and enjoyable atmosphere for all participants (ages 3 to 10).
- Provides effective communication with all internal and external user groups.
- Attends and participates in program and operation meetings- providing input and updates on programs, events and services.
- Supports Recreation Coordinator with patron relations, registrations, special events and programs.
- This positions begins in May and will run through August.
- Assists in the supervision of playground camp and sports camp recreation staff by providing work direction, monitoring activities, coordinating schedules, organizing meetings and assisting with all aspects of summer operations.
While these areas are the primary focus of the position, we believe strongly in teamwork and employees may be called upon to perform a variety of duties in their roles with the City of Savage.

Do you possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Minnesota Driver's License by date of hire?

Do you understand that this position requires a background check that will begin after the initial pre-employment offer is made?
