Looking to share your love of the arts with the community? The Cultural Arts Center, a state-of-the-art facility in the downtown historic district, is seeking qualified Visual Arts Instructors to teach classes and workshops in watercolor, acrylics, and/or jewelry & metalsmithing for the Spring term (April 7 - May 17).
Classes are usually offered once a week on weekday mornings, late afternoons or evenings, as well during the day on Saturdays. Class terms are typically 6 weeks long. Workshops range from half-day to multi-day events. Programs are based at the Savannah Cultural Arts Center, 201 Montgomery St.
Applicants should have experience working with adults of all experience levels in their proposed medium. Instructors will design and prepare art lessons tailored to the age group of the class, maintain an overall enjoyable studio, and recommend materials and equipment needed for the program(s).
Interested individuals should submit along with their application: a resume and up to five portfolio images (in digital format). Previous experience in art instruction is required. This is a per-activity contractual service; not a City of Savannah employment position. Successful candidates will be paid $25 per class hour plus an additional $25 per class for prep and cleanup.
