This position is responsible for the enforcement of parking and other related ordinances.
Essential Job Functions
- Issues citations for parking violations of local, state, and national ordinances.
- Completes daily activity reports.
- Investigate complaints of parking violations and attempt to find resolutions.
- Serves as ambassadors providing customers with information and other services.
- Ensures compliance with permit stipulations and validity at various work sites throughout the city.
- Collects coins and bills from parking meters and reports meter malfunctions.
- Reports vehicles with outstanding balances to revenue investigators.
- Reports potential hazards throughout the city and makes necessary calls to emergency personnel, or first response agencies.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; with one (1) year of public relations, customer service, or cashier experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
Additional Requirements
Background investigation, including supervised drug screen, post-offer / pre-employment medical screen; and verification of education, certifications, and licenses required prior to employment.

Minimum Standards SUPERVISORY CONTROLS : The Senior Parking Services Officer assigns work in terms of somewhat general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with instructions and establishes procedures, accuracy, and the nature and propriety of the final results.
GUIDELINES : Guidelines include city parking ordinances, tour service ordinances, department standard operating procedures, department policies, and city and state ordinances. These guidelines are generally clear and specific but may require some interpretation in application.
COMPLEXITY : The work consists of related parking code enforcement activities. Heavy traffic and weather conditions contribute to the complexity of the position.
SCOPE AND EFFECT : The purpose of this position is to enforce parking ordinances. Success in this position results in an orderly and safe parking environment.
PERSONAL CONTACTS : Contacts are typically with co-workers, other city personnel, residents, tourists, and tour company personnel.
PURPOSE OF CONTACTS : Contacts are typically to give or exchange information, provide services, and resolve problems.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS : The work is typically performed while intermittently sitting, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, or walking. The employee frequently lifts light objects, uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity, and distinguishes between shades of color.
WORK ENVIRONMENT : The work is typically performed outdoors, where the employee may be exposed to cold or inclement weather, noise, dirt, dust, or grease.
