The Savannah Police Department is seeking fifteen (15) customer-service focused Community Services Officer to perform various non-emergency public service-related functions. - Writes up various types of police reports, i.e. crime/incident reports, supplemental reports, burglary, theft, fraud, and battery, worthless document reports, missing person report and runaway juvenile incidents.
- Investigates motor vehicle traffic accidents on private property, writes traffic accident reports, tow vehicles, and issues traffic citations.
- Enforces City of Savannah Codes and Ordinances (i.e.; parking violations, handicap violations, illegal boat parking, etc.)
- Directs traffic and responds to calls for service that are non-emergency in nature.
- Participates in special details such as transporting victim/witnesses, DUI checkpoints, and special task force and holiday events.
- Assists police officers in any non-hazardous situations.
- Processes crime scenes, i.e. photographing, latent print recovery, collection and preservation of physical evidence, requesting laboratory examination, canvassing and suspect elimination fingerprinting.
- Testifies in civil and criminal court proceedings and gives depositions as required.
- Works in conjunction with other departments or local agencies engaged in various traffic problems or code compliance tasks, i.e., fire codes, municipal health and sanitation codes.
- Provides information and/or assistance to the public, victims, witnesses and relatives concerning available services in the community.
- May be required to operate a motor vehicle in performance of assigned tasks.
- Performs other related duties as required.

Background investigation, including supervised drug screen, post offer/pre-employment medical screen; and verification of education, certifications, and licenses required prior to employment.
