What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Worker- Savannah Civic Center position at City of Savannah?
Assist in the preparation of daily needs for the building and special events. Moves tables, chairs, and staging from different locations using hand trucks, carts, etc. Assists with the setup and removal of folding tables, chairs and barricades as needed for event setup. Uses common hand tools to perform routine maintenance. Minor repairs and modification of equipment and systems and fabricate cord assemblies and accessories as needed. Responsible for a variety of maintenance needs such as cleaning and sanitization of the front office & restrooms/bathrooms, empty/cleaning of wastebaskets and trash/recycling containers, upkeep of floors and walls, laundering of rags, tablecloths, table skirts, and drapes as needed using established practices and procedures. Lock and unlock rooms as needed: secures rooms and buildings when not in use. Checks unlocked doors and windows, reports any unauthorized occupants, turns off light. Performs general maintenance duties, cleans the interior and exterior of parking structure; sweeps stairwell, picks up litter, replaces light bulbs, blows leaves and cleans windows. Performs other related duties as assigned.
A valid driver's license is required

Background investigation, including supervised drug screen, post offer/pre-employment medical screen; and verification of education, certifications, and licenses required prior to employment.
Knowledge of equipment and tools necessary to perform essential duties. Knowledge of job-related safety hazards and precautionary methods Skill in establishing priorities and organizing work. Skill in the operation of assigned vehicles and equipment. Skill in oral communication.
