Coordinates shipping and receiving of supplies. Notify departments of order status and assist with loading supplies. Maintains inventory of all supplies, equipment, materials, and tools, and prepares daily, weekly and monthly cycle counts for inventory accuracy. Reviews contracts to ensure vendor compliance. Participates in vendor meetings; assist in establishing product specifications. Reconciles storeroom inventory against a computer-generated report. Research costs and specifications for equipment purchases and regular inventory. Ensures the proper storage, accountability, and warehousing of all supplies and equipment .Distributes components, commodities, supplies and equipment to personnel and contractors. Responsible for housekeeping, notification of maintenance and damage reporting for all warehouse equipment, shelving, pallets racks, interior and exterior structure and grounds.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent; with two (2) years of experience in computerized general warehousing, storekeeping, inventory control experience in automotive, truck or vehicular related equipment parts and assemblies; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
Background investigation, including supervised drug screen, post offer/pre-employment medical screen; and verification of education, certifications, and licenses required prior to employment.
Knowledge of parts, materials and supplies used in servicing, maintenance and repair of light and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. Knowledge of standard business software and specialized vehicle parts inventory software. Knowledge of techniques for researching parts data. Knowledge of city purchasing policies. Knowledge of generally accepted inventory management and accounting principles; clerical procedures involved in requisitioning, receiving, and issuing parts and supplies. Knowledge of safety methods, practices and equipment used in the operations of the parts warehouse. Skill in establishing priorities and organizing work. Skill in public and interpersonal relations. Skill in oral and written communication. Ability to work effectively with vendors and City employees.
