Introduction

About the Position :

The Business Services Manager oversees two revenue generating sections within the Business Services Department. This position will oversee the Utility Billing section.

Anticipated starting salary may be up to mid-point depending on candidate's experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and mid-point for this position is $101,670.40 annually.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution.
  • Five years' professional experience in a customer service environment.
  • Must have three years of Supervisory experience.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and / or job-related experience that meets the minimum qualifications may be substituted.

Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements

  • Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.
  • Other pertinent licenses and / or certifications may be required of some positions depending on department / section assignment.

    Essential Functions

  • Supervises employees and coordinates personnel-related activities to include, but not limited to : training, approving work schedules, recommending / approving personnel actions, coaching and counseling, establishing performance goals, and writing performance evaluations.
  • Provides statistical data and implements processes to improve business operations.
  • Works in partnership with internal and external resources to collect on delinquent accounts.
  • Administers the quarterly and annual 'write-offs' report of all uncollectable funds for City Treasurer review.
  • Oversees the timely and accurate billing of utility payments.
  • Reviews billing accuracy working in partnership with other Business Services departments, Water Meter Reading Department and Solid Waste Department.
