About the Position
Under the direction of the Community & Economic Development Director, City Manager, or designee, this position is responsible for the overall coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of the multi-phase capital facility project to develop a new SeaTac City Hall and Civic Campus. This position will also assist with other budgeted capital projects related to City facilities as workload allows. Responsible for ensuring compliance with adopted regulations and project delivery consistent with established SeaTac strategy, direction, commitments, and goals. 

This is a 5-year limited term, benefits-eligible position. There is a possibility of extending the term up to 2 additional years. This position is exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime regulations.

There is a possibility of a hybrid work schedule for this position.

The position will perform a combination of some or all the following duties, and related duties as assigned. The duties generally fall within the project categories of planning, due diligence, preliminary design, final design, land acquisition, and construction management.

  1. Evaluate and select consultants to perform due diligence on potential sites for City Hall/Civic Campus. 

  2. Manage the City Hall/Civic Campus consultant team and provide general oversight and supervision of consultants performing the design, construction, maintenance, and renovation of City-owned facilities and real properties.

  3. Evaluate, interview, and select consultants/contractors as required to plan, design, and construct the SeaTac City Hall and Civil Campus project. Schedule, assign work to, and manage the consultant/contractor team.

  4. Evaluate and recommend financing and project delivery methods, including 63-20, Public/Private, and/or other joint venture methods.

  5. Develop and assign project scopes, schedules, and budgets for the project team. Track execution, project deliverables, ensure quality control and maintain project schedules. 

  6. Identify and secure required project resources, escalate decision points and issues appropriately to ensure clear and timely direction is provided to the project team.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in project management, construction management, engineering, landscape architecture, architecture, public administration, public planning, or field related to assigned position.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in facility and public infrastructure construction, construction management, architecture, urban planning, project management, or related field. 
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License is required 45 days after date of appointment.  
  • A satisfactory three-year driving abstract record, submitted prior to hire.
  • General contractors’ or specialty license related to position may be required for certain positions. 
Preferred
  • Advanced degree or professional certification in LEED, architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, construction management, project management, or field related to assigned position. 

The successful candidate must have successful references and pass a criminal background check prior to hire.

Salary : $131,908 - $168,853
