Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is recruiting for a Construction Engineer internship. The successful intern will have opportunities to learn and better understand the dynamics of executing construction specifications and civil plans for public works contracts, observe project team meetings during design and construction, network with other interns in the engineering, project management, and maintenance operations branches.

Job Responsibilities
Under direct supervision, the interns will learn through supervised practical training and various aspects of construction engineering.
Duties may include, but not limited to:
Qualifications
Education: Applicants must be currently enrolled in and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate-level degree related to Construction Management, Project Management, Design Engineering, Civil Engineering, Technical Writing, or a closely related field.
Applicants must be enrolled at least part-time or full-time and maintain a 3.0 GPA for the duration of the internship.
Exception: Students do not need to be enrolled over the summer months but will need to provide at the end of Spring Quarter/Semester proof of continuing and pre-registration for the Fall session as applicable.
Licensing and Other Requirements: A Washington State Driver's license is required for this internship in order to operate a City vehicle to visit construction sites.
Additional Information
This position allows for the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule. Individual schedules will be agreed upon by the employee and their supervisor.

- Attend section, division, and branch meetings
- Review construction specifications, plans, and monthly progress payments.
