General Description:
To enhance the productivity of the police department in areas assigned. Placement of volunteers will be commensurate with the skills and interests of the Volunteer and the needs of the community as well as the Police Department.Primary and Essential Responsibilities:

No experience necessary except to have completed the necessary department orientation and training.Training:

Records Section:
- Data entry
- Clerical duties as required
- Participate in the House Watch Program
- Participate in the Neighborhood Watch Program
- Courier for the Police Department for delivery of paperwork
- Assist with the transport of vehicles for repairs and calibration
- Conduct traffic direction and control after completion of training
- Funeral escorts
- Neighborhood patrol
- Meals on Wheels deliveries
- Participate in various City events throughout the year

- Traffic Direction and Control Training
- Community Service Aide Program Training
- Tasks may involve some lifting or carrying of objects and materials of light weight (5-20 pounds).
- Tasks may involve standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time with intermittent breaks.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be of good moral character.
- Must pass a background investigation.
- Must complete a drug screening and physical.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Must contribute a minimum of four hours per week.
