Salary: $11 to $15/hr
Job Summary:
The City of Seymour is seeking a Seasonal Pool Manager to oversee the daily operations of the municipal swimming pool during the summer season. The Pool Manager will be responsible for ensuring the safety of all patrons, managing lifeguards and staff, maintaining water quality, and enforcing facility rules. This position requires strong leadership, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to respond quickly to emergencies.
Key Responsibilities: Operations & Safety:
- Supervise daily pool operations, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.
- Enforce all city pool rules, safety regulations, and health codes.
- Conduct routine inspections of pool facilities and equipment to ensure safety and cleanliness.
- Monitor water quality, including proper chemical balance and filtration.
- Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, including performing rescues and administering first aid or CPR if needed.
Staff Management:
- Schedule and supervise lifeguards
- Provide leadership for staff.
- Ensure all lifeguards are properly follow emergency procedures.
Customer Service & Facility Maintenance:
- Address patron concerns, answer questions, and provide a friendly, professional atmosphere.
- Ensure proper cleanliness of the pool area, restrooms, and surrounding facilities.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs and chemical treatments as needed.
Administrative Duties:
- Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
- Maintain accurate records, including incident reports and maintenance logs.
- Monitor the pool supplies, and inventory needs.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Pool Manager, Lifeguard Supervisor, or similar role preferred.
- Current CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard Training Certifications
(American Red Cross or equivalent) (On-site Training Available).
- Preferred knowledge of pool operations, including chemical balancing and maintenance.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and respond effectively in emergencies.
Work Schedule & Compensation:
- Seasonal position (typically Memorial Day to Labor Day).
- Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Hourly Wage up to $15
