For fun at work, just add water! Make a splash this summer working at the Shawnee Municipal pools! The Dive Coach position is responsible for instructing diving classes, planning and organizing diving programs, coaching/supervising teams, representing Shawnee at all Johnson County Swim and Dive meets, and leading organized workouts. The Pool Manager provides supervision, however, work is performed independently with latitude for decision-making. The position requires direct interaction with customers, the general public and other department personnel or other agencies. Current pay for the Dive Coach position begins at $20.00 per hour. Additional compensation is provided for employees who return after each season.

Position Responsibilities
- Diving Instruction: Plans and conducts diving practices and competitive events.
- Safety: Prevents accidents and eliminates hazardous situations.
- Special Events: Plans or assists with Aquatics special events.
- Training: Attends appropriate training sessions and staff meetings as scheduled.
- Attends all practices and competitions throughout the entire season.
- Other Duties: Performs other related duties as requested or assigned by the Pool Manager or Aquatics Director
Education and Experience
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Previous diving/coaching experience necessary.
- Certifications Needed:
- Current Lifeguard Instructor certification (National Pool & Waterpark Lifeguard Training Program Certification)
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification
- PA Certifications
