What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cashier position at City of Shawnee?
For fun at work, just add water! Make a splash this summer working at the Shawnee Municipal pools! Gain valuable customer service and teamwork experience in a fun environment. The Cashier is responsible for maintaining an efficient register operation, including courteous and accurate customer service, a clean, neat counter area, consistent inventory levels and accurately cash counts. Current pay for the Cashier position begins at $11.00 per hour. Additional compensation is provided for employees who return after each season.
Position Responsibilities:
- Greet all patrons in a polite and courteous manner
- Take orders and serve customers
- Fill out daily reports
- Operate the cash register and maintain accurate funds. Distribute correct change. Balance the cash drawer daily at the end of shift
- Clean work place areas
- Inform Manager of items to order
- Follows correct procedures for admittance at front gates.
- Always conduct oneself in a professional manner
- Performs other related duties as requested or assigned by the Pool Manager or Aquatics Director
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 14 years of age or older by May 31, 2025
- Cash register experience is preferred
- Must successfully pass a written math test
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification or the ability to obtain certification prior to beginning employment
