The Mead Public Library provides quality services, resources, and lifelong learning opportunities to meet the needs and interests of our diverse community. The function of the Mead Public Library is to serve our customers in a way that establishes a relationship of mutual gratitude – our gratitude for our customers’ patronage, and our customers’ gratitude for the quality and value they receive.
Under general supervision, assists in making the library a welcoming environment for citizens by cleaning, modifying spaces, moving furniture and assisting staff and members of the public as needed. It is imperative job duties are performed with respect, integrity, objectivity and in the best interest of the City. All City employees are expected to be honest and truthful at all times.
This is a full time position with anticipated hours of 6am-2:30pm, Mondays - Fridays.
Performs duties independently with general supervision.
Performs general day to day cleaning duties such as:
Wash, dust, vacuum, and clean facility and furniture
Clean and disinfect restrooms and maintain supplies
Dispose of trash and recycle applicable materials
Scrub floors, tile, and extract the carpet
Shampoo carpets
Reports safety and security matters to management team.
Provides customer service and assistance to patrons.

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be punctual
- Must be able to follow directions from supervisor and work well as part of a team
- Must possess the ability to communicate effectively both in written and oral form
- Must possess strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills and a strong sense of responsibility and initiative
- Must posses the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
Work Environment:
On a frequent basis, must have the ability to stand, walk, sit, talk, and reach with hands and arms and occasionally lift, bend, stoop, push and pull equipment for sustained periods. Position also requires frequent repetitive motions with the use of hands, legs, and back. Frequent exposure to cleaning supplies and chemicals.
