Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Van Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting clients safely and efficiently, ensuring a positive experience for all passengers. This role is essential in providing transportation services for individuals in need, including seniors and those requiring paratransit services. A strong emphasis on safety, punctuality, and customer service is crucial.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a van to transport clients to various destinations, including medical appointments, social events, and other necessary locations.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking the vehicle, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, including passenger counts and any incidents that may occur during transportation.
- Educate passengers about safety protocols and procedures while in transit.
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections to ensure safety standards are met and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Provide exceptional customer service by being courteous and respectful to all passengers.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding schedules and any issues that arise during transportation.
- Multilingual candidates are encouraged to assist non-English speaking passengers, particularly those who speak Spanish.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) or equivalent driving certification preferred.
- Experience in senior care or childcare is a plus, demonstrating an understanding of the needs of vulnerable populations.
- Knowledge of paratransit services is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to educate passengers on safety measures.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed to accommodate client schedules.
- A clean driving record with no major violations or accidents within the last few years.
- Multilingual abilities are beneficial, particularly in Spanish, to better serve diverse communities.
