What are the responsibilities and job description for the YOUTH PROGRAM LEAD position at City of Sherwood AR?
Responsible for providing a healthy, safe, and fun environment for the participants in the youth programs. Assists the Youth Program Coordinator. Prepares schedules as needed. Plans, provides, and participates in recreational activities with the children. Supervises the health, safety, and recreational activities of children. Works with other staff on special events and programs. Sets good example for children in manners, actions, and language. Be able to monitor up to 20 children at one time. Be able to lift to 80 pounds. Be able to participate in verbal and written communication with staff, children, parents, and the public. Perform other duties as assigned and/or required.
Qualifications
High school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area, plus 2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be 18 years or older. To be able to transport children in city vehicles for field trips. First Aid or CPR certification or the ability to obtain. Ability to maintain accurate records, type and enter data accurately. Ability to effectively communicate on a one-on-one basis with others. Ability to maintain effective and harmonious working relationships with other employees, department officials and the public. Ability to report to work each scheduled day, and on time.
