What are the responsibilities and job description for the Music Instructor - Piano & Guitar position at City of Shoreview?
The City of Shoreview Summer Discovery program is looking for a music instructor(s) to teach private piano and guitar lessons to program participants. Summer Discovery is a full-day childcare program for children ages 5 – 11. Participants can sign-up for private piano and guitar lessons as part of the enrichment curriculum. Typically there are 10-12 students that participate in piano lessons and about 10-12 students that enroll in guitar lessons.
Lessons are once a week and are 30 minutes in length. We are open to hiring one or two instructors depending on the background and experience of the applicant.
- Evaluate each student's ability level
- Develop individual lessons for each student's skill level
- Must have a music background in piano & guitar
- Experience teaching children is preferred
- Must be at least 16 years old
Hours: Individual lessons are scheduled Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, usually between 9:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. June through August.
