The City of Shoreview is accepting applications for a Maintenance Worker in the Parks & Recreation Department.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Install, construct and maintain parks, parking lots, open spaces and trails.Perform landscaping and grounds care including planting, mowing, fertilizing, weed control, seeding, irrigation, etc.Maintain recreational areas such as ball fields, soccer fields, lacrosse fields, park shelters, ice rinks and other recreation facilities.Remove snow from Community Center, Library, School District offices, Fire Stations and park sidewalks, trails and parking lots.Perform duties in accordance with appropriate safety and security standards.Perform routine safety checks and inspections on vehicles and equipment.Maintain accurate work records.Perform general labor including frequently lifting and/or moving up to 75 lbs. and occasionally lifting and/or moving more than 100 lbs.Other duties and special projects as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Hours: Normally, 6:30am - 3:00pm with some seasonal adjustments; subject to call back, unscheduled overtime, shift work and weekend duty.Hiring Wage Range: $33.30 – $36.71 per hour, plus excellent benefits. (2025 Full Wage Range: $33.30 - $44.45 per hour)Deadline: Open until filled. First consideration given to applications received by Thursday, February 20, 2025.SUPERVISION OF OTHERS: None PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: Sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, kneeling, bending, squatting, grasping and stooping required for daily activities.Performs general labor including frequently lifting and/or moving up to 75-lbs and occasionally lifting and/or moving more than 100-lbs.Work outside on a daily basis operating construction/maintenance type vehicles and equipment.Work at elevated heights utilizing aerial equipment and ladders.The City of Shoreview is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
