What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sustainability - GIS - Engineering Intern position at City of Shoreview?
Documents field & office inventory of assets (utilities, retaining walls, recreational equipment) with GPS equipment for use in GIS mapping.
Assists with evaluation and hands-on maintenance of rain gardens and newly-planted trees.
Creates and maintains detailed records in GIS and AutoCAD.
Assists in research and implementation of city sustainability initiatives.
Entry-level tasks related to survey and construction of the City’s infrastructure to include observation, measurement and documentation.
Other work and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Enrollment in (or completion of) a degree or certificate program in civil engineering, environmental engineering, geography, environmental science, urban studies, sustainable system management or closely related field).
Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
Valid driver's license and satisfactory motor vehicle report.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with ArcGIS Online/Pro, ArcMap or other ESRI software.
Experience with AutoCAD software.
Experience with surveying.
Related experience (volunteer, internship, employment, etc.).
Hours: Typically, Monday through Friday: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm; occasional overtime as needed.
Wage: $19.00 per hour
