Performs intermediate level water aerobics instruction. Monitors and educates patrons on fitness and safety and maintains a safe and pleasant atmosphere for class participants. Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required.

- Teaches scheduled classes, ensuring classes start and end on time; delivers acceptable warm-up, exercise, stretching, and cool down.
- Teaches patrons on effective workout methods such as flexibility, strength, endurance, and cardiovascular conditioning. Motivates class participants.
- Explains proper techniques and demonstrates exercises; identifies different muscle groups and teaches appropriate methods to strengthen specific muscles.
- Prepares appropriate work out, and music for each class.
- Assists patrons, answers questions, and maintains a positive exercise experience for class participants.
- Keeps management informed of pool activities, facility needs, and significant problems.
- Ensures that safety standards are met, and that department and facility policies are followed.

PERIPHERAL DUTIES:
Serves on various employee or other committees as assignedEducation and Experience:
- At least one season of experience teaching water aerobics, swim lessons, fitness classes or equivalent
- Holds a certification in Kinesiology, or is a certified Water Aerobics instructor.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of operation of a pool, record keeping methods and procedures, safety concerns associated with the care of participants
- Skill in customer service and first aid
- Ability to work safely, maintain a safe environment, communicate effectively verbally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments, and the public; ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
- Current Water Aerobics Instructor Certificate
- Current Kinesiology Certificate
