Duties
Under the general supervision of the Airport Operations Supervisor, incumbents in this class will perform varying assignments in support of airside, landside, security, and parking operations/ground transportation.
Essential duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
- Ensures airfield safety and compliance, assists with emergency planning and wildlife management, general aviation, airport certification; public and employee parking facilities; ground transportation services; airport badging; access control/CCTV; Airport Communications Center.
- Performs airside and landside inspections under the general supervision of the Airport Operations Supervisor on duty to ensure compliance with federal, state, parish and city laws and regulations pertaining to airport operations.
- Responds to aircraft or other emergencies and assists as needed.
- Serves as a liaison for the airport with airport tenants, FAA tower staff, other City staff and the community.
- Assists with monitoring systems and maintaining records concerning operational activities including, but not limited to surveillance systems, fire alarms, door alarms, gate alarms and building maintenance monitoring systems and completes incident reports.

Minimum Qualifications
- This position requires education and experience reflecting possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. A typical combination would include graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in aviation or closely related field plus one (1) year of airport operations experience preferred.
- Must be able to pass and maintain SIDA (Security Identification Display Area) and AOA (Airfield Operations Area) clearance.
- Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Louisiana Driver’s License
