What are the responsibilities and job description for the VEH HIRE COORDINATOR position at City of Shreveport, LA?
Duties
The Vehicle for Hire work duties include;
1). Receives and investigates complaints on VFH agents for alleged violations and inoperable vehicles as it pertains to City ordinances.
2) Organizes and schedules inspections of businesses and vehicles. If violations are found, seeks corrective action concerning violations.
3) Conducts onsite inspections of businesses, buildings and other structures used as dwellings to determine their fitness for human occupancy.
4) Takes pictures of vehicles, checks for violations, issues summons of found violations and prepares documents for court cases.
5) Draft correspondence as necessary.
6) Audit system to maintain its integrity and keep abreast of ordinance changes as it affects VFH.
7) Makes recommendations of policies and procedures as it affects VFH.
8) Inputs inspections and other information into the computer and files for future reference as stated in the City Ordinance.
9) Inspects vehicles for proper identification. Ensures all vehicles for hire have proper permit numbers, licensing and registration. Ensures all drivers are checked for background checks and are in good standing. Ensures all vehicles for hire are equipped with proper working equipment that will enable them to perform according to the City Ordinances of Shreveport.
10) Identify necessary training and assist with the application of said training for the department.
11) Records ledgers entries, perform database entries and update business applications; draft office correspondence.
12) Compile appropriate data to generate monthly reports and prepare it at the allotted time.
13) Maintains files (filing) and applicable records of business owners, workers, etc.
14) Any other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications i.e.: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
- Knowledge of City ordinances, as it pertains to VFH, vehicle safety procedures, and some knowledge of criminal codes.
- At least two years supervisory and management experience.
- Current and valid Driver's license.
- Physical Requirements: Performs frequent, extensive and prolonged exposure to the elements as well as getting into and out of a vehicle, inspecting vehicles, buildings and workplaces throughout the day. May require regular and prolonged bending, stooping, squatting, and kneeling while working. Tasks may include use of portable electronic devices to record vehicle information, inspections of premises and other pertinent information. Tasks require visual perception, depth and discrimination. Must be able to communicate well both orally and written. Job must be able to be performed with or without accommodations.
