General Description
Under the direction of the Community Development Director, the Economic/Community Development Manager plans, organizes, and implements an economic development program to promote the growth and development of the City’s economic base; assists in the retention and expansion of existing businesses, and seeks out new businesses for the City; oversees a variety of activities designed to create and retain jobs through the development, analysis, promotion, and support of economic and/or community development programs.
Licensure Or Certification Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid State of Ohio driver’s license and must remain insurable under the City’s vehicle insurance policy; certification as an Economic Development professional or ability to obtain certification within three years of hire.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: An example of acceptable qualifications: Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, business, public administration, economics or other related field; two (2) years’ work experience in urban planning, and/or community/economic development, or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
