Under general supervision, lifeguard multiple aquatic programs for the Sierra Vista Aquatic Center. FLSA Status: Non-Exempt.

APPLICANTS MUST BE ABLE TO WORK FLEXIBLE HOURS TO INCLUDE MORNING, EVENING AND WEEKEND SHIFTS. RECREATION FACILITIES ARE OPEN FROM 0530-2000 AND INCLUDE HOURS ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY.
Performs lifeguard duties and responsible for numerous aquatic activities such as lap swim, splash time, pool rentals and special events, also required to perform various daily facility and pool maintenance. Applicant must be able to work a flexible schedule; work hours will vary depending upon type of program that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Applicant may also be required to work non-aquatic department and city special events.Knowledge of:

Caring for head, neck, and back injuries in the water and on land
Communicating effectively, orally and in writing
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with the public and department staff

Submission of high school diploma, GED, unless currently attending high school.
Submission of certifications required, if applicable. Must be a minimum of 16 years of age. Applicant must pass in-person skills test. Successful completion of Lifeguard certification course required within 6 months of hire.
