What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Lifeguard position at CITY OF SILOAM SPRINGS?
SUMMARY
This position ensures the safety of patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies. The Lifeguard must be prepared to react in an emergency situation and provide appropriate emergency care when needed, be knowledgeable of customer service standards and procedures, and enforce the facility procedures, rules and regulations in a consistent manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: (Other duties may be assigned as needed)
1. Maintain surveillance of patrons in the facility.
2. Eliminate hazardous conditions or behaviors that could result in injury.
3. Enforce all pool rules and regulations.
4. Recognize and respond quickly and effectively to all emergency situations.
5. Provide emergency care when needed.
6. Inform other lifeguards and facility staff when additional help or equipment is needed.
7. Maintain 10/20 rule of protection while on duty.
8. Complete required reports and forms.
9. Educate patrons about facility rules and regulations.
