The City of Solon has an opening for a full-time Business Operations Administrator position in the Finance Department. This position is responsible for assisting the Director of Finance and City Departments in the administration, direction, and planning related to business operations in the Finance department and other City departments as directed; performing high level operational support for various City Departments and City functions including procurement, administration, shared services, financial management, City credit card program and other responsibilities as assigned; administering all purchasing related functions in accordance with state law and local ordinances on behalf of the Finance Director; and coordinating the procurement of various shared services on behalf of City departments
Primary duties include gathering, entering and/or updating data to maintain departmental records and databases and administering the City’s ERP system and related user management, versioning, integration, issue monitoring, and user training. Establishes and maintains files and records for the department, monitoring and coordinating accounting activities as appropriate and preparing internal reports for management, participating in budget and capital planning as required, and assisting with project development and planning to ensure more efficient service and organization of the Finance department and other departments as directed.
Applicants must have a four (4) year Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Public Relations, and Business related field. Candidates are also required to have five (5) years of experience in a setting performing accounting, budgeting, finance, business process and purchase related work or a government agency. Training in and familiarity of fund accounting, general ledgers and procurement best practices is preferred.
This position offers a starting salary range of $68,517.79 to $82,221.34. City benefits include medical, prescription, dental, and vision. In addition, benefits include membership in the Ohio Public Employer’s Retirement System, life insurance, vacation, sick leave accruals and select paid holidays.
