What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instructor (Music Private Lessons) - Solon Center for the Arts - Part-Time position at City of Solon, OH?
Solon Center for the Arts is accepting applications for Part-Time Music Instructor(s) to fill the position of Private Music Lesson Teacher. Approximately 5 - 15 hours per week depending on enrollment.
SCA is considering applications for the following instruments:
- Piano Instructor
- Voice Instructor
- Percussion Instructor
- Orchestral Strings Instructor
- General Music Classes/Camp Instructor
Qualified applicants must have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Music or Music Education from an accredited institution or have related work or performance experience equivalent to such a degree. Graduate experience is a plus. Interested applicants must have a minimum two (2) years of experience working as a Music Instructor/Teacher.
Responsibilities include:
- Create lessons, plan, prepare and instruct weekly, one-on-one lessons
- Lessons are taught in-person
- Prepare students for seasonal recitals (Winter/Spring)
- Attend seasonal recitals (Saturday/Sunday)
Candidates must be able to work with students of all ages and skill levels. Applicants must be professional and display leadership qualities in and out of the classroom. In addition, the applicant should possess excellent problem solving, organizational and interpersonal skills. Applicants must be able to work in a team environment.
This position offers a starting rate from $28.00/hour. Compensation will be determined based upon previous education, performance, and teaching experience.
