SCA Camp Counselor (Dance) - Solon Center for the Arts

Solon Center for the Arts is currently accepting applications for camp counselors for Summer Dance Camps. Applicants will assist Instructors during camp with participants (ages 3-12) and will be asked to help implement activities such as dance classes, crafts, and games. This position involves weekday daytime hours; between 15-35 hours per week. Primary tasks and responsibilities include:

• Organize, promote interest and facilitate activities, such as warm-ups, dance combinations, spotting as appropriate, games, crafts, and general dance classroom support.
• Attend staff meetings prior to and during camp weeks to assess camp needs and assign responsibilities.
• Assist in supervising and engaging participants during breaks and snack.
• Set up and clean up classroom with Instructor based on needs of camp.

Applicants must be 16 years old by June 2, 2025. Applicants under the age of 18 must provide a work permit, which may be obtained through your high school, at the time of hire. Applicants knowledgeable in any or multiple styles listed are preferred; ballet, jazz, modern, hip-hop, tap, pom, and acrobatics.

Candidates for this position will work closely with the Dance Coordinator and Dance Instructors and must be able to work with participants ranging in ages of 3-12 years old. Applicants must be professional and display leadership qualities in and out of the classroom. In addition, the applicant should possess excellent problem solving, organizational and interpersonal skills. Applicant must be able to work in a team environment.

This position is seasonal with hours not exceed more than 40 hours/week. This position offers a starting wage of $17.4084/hour.
