What are the responsibilities and job description for the NB-SH-Golf Shop Players Assistant - Elbel position at City of South Bend?
SALARY: $12- per hour
POSITION SUMMARY:
Golf Course attendant makes sure all players are set with tee times, tickets, and cart or walking arrangements for
the course. The course attendant maintains all golf cart activity. The course attendant also monitors all course
action and assists the pro shop attendant when needed. Must be personable to all customers.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be friendly and courteous to all, but be firm in decisions; however, the starter must never argue with the public.
- Check receipts before allowing golfers to start.
- Controls the first and tenth tees. Informing groups when they’re on the tee and on deck.
- Staging carts in the morning and putting away at night. Make sure are all accounted for.
- Cleaning and maintaining carts. Batteries filled and free of corrosion.
- Maintaining trash barrels and ball washers on the course.
- Water coolers filled along with cups.
- Rental sets clean and all clubs accounted for.
- Keep golf pro aware of cart and gps issues.
NON-ESSENTIAL/MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
Assume additional responsibilities as requested.
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent education.
- Three years’ experience in golf operations.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY:
Working knowledge of City or County government a plus
CERTIFICATES, LICENSE, REGISTRATION:
- Valid Indiana Driver’s License required if driving City vehicle.
