In this capacity, the Senior HR Generalistwill also support and assist the management of employee benefits, talent management, onboarding, performance management, policies, programs, and provides direction to address a variety of complex problems and / or organizational issues. In addition to supporting public safety, the Senior HR Generalist may lead City-wide key strategic initiatives related todiversity, employee engagement, recruitment and benefit plans, and analyzes complex information and provides insights that promote data-driven decision making and continuous improvement, promoting a culture of innovation.SALARY : up to 60,000 yearly.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Manage job posting requisitions, post jobs on My Staffing Pro and assist in departmental recruitment practices. Circulate bid sheets for Teamster positions internally and job postings externally, at the required times and maintaining files of signed bid sheets.Participate in hiring process including : Reviewing resumes, conducting telephone and in-person interviews, reference and background checks, etc.Assist in the administration of various human resources plans and procedures for City employees. Assist in managing the FMLA and other leave processes, including functioning as the point of contact and communicating with employees and managers.Process new employee paperwork and assist in resolving payroll issues related to onboarding and termination.Administer change of status functions in UKG HR / Payroll system.Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of departments and services performed.Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures.Assist with employee benefits management issues related to plan renewal and open enrollment, benefits enrollment and termination, troubleshooting employee benefits issues, and the customer service aspect of benefits oversight, including the Public Employees Retirement Program (PERF).Attend weekly departmental meetings and have continual communication with HR and other various departments.Analyze data from multiple sources to advance major initiatives and improve services.Generate periodic reports on the performance of the department's plans and initiatives.NON-ESSENTIAL / MARGINAL FUNCTIONS : Perform other duties as assigned.
