What are the responsibilities and job description for the Solid Waste Operator position at City of Spencer?
The City of Spencer is now accepting applications for a full-time Solid Waste Operator to work Monday-Friday 4:30am-12:30pm. CDL B or A with air brake endorsement & acceptable driving record required.
$21.55 - $22.78/hour DOE
Duties Include
- Collecting garbage & trash; deliver to landfill or transfer station
- Completely dump all containers, leaving customer’s location free of debris
- Works closely with the Solid Waste Superintendent to improve route efficiencies
- Performs light vehicle maintenance
- Attends safety training programs
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must hold Class A or B CDL w/air brake endorsement & acceptable driving record
- Operation of trucks & other equipment under all types of weather conditions required
- Ability to push, pull, bend, twist & lift up to 50 lbs. & pull up to 50 lbs. regularly
- Must pass background & drug screening prior to employment
