Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Provide good customer service to both internal and external customers; maintain positive and effective working relationships with other City employees (especially members of their own team), and have regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive.
2.Responsible for leasing all City owned airport space.
3.Perform contractor street repair inspections.
4.Responsible for budget and maintaining costs within the budget.
5.Oversee Airport operations.
6.Perform daily inspections of the airfield to confirm safety of flying to the public.
7.Maintain communications with the tower contractor.
8.Maintain schedule for the crew, including full time, temporary workers, and assigned porters.
9.Ensure accurate billing and collections are performed.
10.Ensure FAA standards are met in order to keep the airport in compliance for grants.
11.Ensure security and maintenance functions are performed in an efficient manner.
12.Attend FAA & other aeronautical meetings annually.
13.Perform data entry and scheduling functions.
14. Perform other duties as required or assigned.
SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises one non-supervisory position within the department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the City’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED plus specialized training and/or additional college courses and 2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience and 4 years of management experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid Arkansas Driver's License; Obtain necessary IMSA Work Zone certification(s) within 6 months of initial hire date.
PUBLIC CONTACT
Regular contacts with contractors, renters, state and federal government, vendors, citizens, and outside representatives.
EMPLOYEE CONTACT
Regular contacts within the department and with other departments as needed.
USE OF MACHINES, EQUIPMENT AND/OR COMPUTERS
Must be proficient in the use of a personal computer, standard office equipment, backhoe, hydraulic lift and tractor.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to utilize both internal and external resources to obtain information and data necessary to carry out routine assignments and special projects. Must have ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management and staff.
