Job Standards
The Office of Public Works, Garage Division is seeking individuals to support the City of Springfield’s mission in keeping our infrastructure well-maintained. This position performs a variety of general maintenance duties; including landscaping, trimming, weeding, edging, watering, pruning, public grounds clean-up, litter removal, transporting equipment to and from job sites, street maintenance assistance, and various other duties. The preferred candidate would be someone who is physically capable of working outside in all weather conditions in a physically active manner, can perform manual tasks for extended periods of time, ability to work well independently and in a team environment, and has a positive attitude and great work ethic. Hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30am – 2:30pm. Seasonal employment is possible May through November. Employment will not exceed six months. Pre-employment background and drug screen are required.
