The Springfield-Greene County Health Department is seeking qualified applicants to join the Communicable Disease Division as a Coordinator of Epidemiology Services. In this role, you will lead comprehensive investigations into reportable diseases and conditions, provide disease prevention education to clients, and analyze disease trends to ensure an effective and coordinated response to disease prevention. You will also stay informed on emerging pathogens, applying this knowledge to enhance disease surveillance and outbreak control efforts. As a key resource for local healthcare partners and community organizations, you will offer expert guidance on disease prevention and control strategies. This position requires strong investigative skills, excellent communication, and the ability to collaborate across multiple sectors to protect and improve community health.

Qualifications and Requirements
Experience, Education, and Training
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Nursing, Biology, Chemical Sciences, Medical Technology or a related science area;
- Three years of applicable experience that includes regular involvement in epidemiology related matters;
- A Master's Degree in Public Health, Nursing, Epidemiological Sciences, or a related area may be substituted for up to one year of the experience requirement.
- Recent epidemiology/communicable disease control experience.
Licensing/Certification
- Possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain, at the earliest opportunity available, certification in "Principles of Epidemiology" and "Applied Epidemiology" or equivalent specialized training as determined by the Health Department;
- Training on the Missouri Health Surveillance Information System (MOHSIS) and Emergency Response Data Collection System (ERDCS) or other current systems.
- For Nursing assignment - a MO RN license is required.

Salary range for applicants that meet the NURSING assignment requirement: $25.46/hr. (annual = $52,958.88) - $42.67/hr. (annual = $88,743.20).
