What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineer II - Water Quality position at City of Springfield (MO)?
The Water Quality Management & Protection Division of the Environmental Services Department is currently seeking an Engineer II (with the option to underfill as Engineer I) to perform experienced engineering work to reduce pollutants in stormwater runoff in compliance with the City's Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit as well as related initiatives to protect and improve the quality of streams and lakes. In this role, you will perform duties related to addressing the water quality impacts of stormwater runoff including project design and management, analyzing and modeling watershed/water quality data, assisting and learning from other engineers in the department, and other assignments. Experience, Education, and Training
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related area;
- Two years of progressively responsible experience;
- A Master's Degree in Engineering may be substituted for one year of the required work experience;
- Work experience must be commensurate with assigned specialty area for required vacancy.
- Must possess a valid Driver's License;
- Engineering Intern (EI) certification is required.
Experience, Education, and Training
- Must possess a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in an Engineering discipline providing appropriate engineering education related to the specialty area with current vacancy.
- If operating a motor vehicle for the purpose of completing job duties, must possess a valid Driver's License;
- Must possess Engineering Intern (EI) certification or acquire within probationary period.
Engineer II - Salary Range $55,572.82 - $93,090.81 Annually
