Responsible for performing oral examinations; prevention of oral disease through education; oral hygiene instruction and sealant placement; and treatment of oral infections and diseased teeth.
- Administers treatment of diseased oral tissues including restorations, root canal treatment, extractions, and prescriptions.
- Conducts oral examinations and charting.
- Administers local anesthesia.
- Reads x-rays and makes diagnoses.
- Provides services after hours and on-call.
- Ability to recognize oral pathology, make an accurate diagnosis, and render appropriate treatment.
- Knowledge of pharmacology and appropriate drugs to prescribe.
- Diagnostic ability and manual skills.
- DDS or DMD and board certification.
