What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facility (Bath) Attendant position at City of Springfield?
This is a seasonal position involving custodial or recreational related activities at various Park Department facilities. Work involves the performance of a variety of routine and manual tasks in the maintenance and supervising of the bath houses, pool areas, and other department facilities. Work is performed in accordance with established procedures under the Head Lifeguard or other personnel who assign tasks and review work through periodic inspections or conferences. No supervision is exercised over other employees.
- Inspects showers, dressing rooms and restrooms, meeting rooms, and various other department facilities for cleanliness
- Maintains orderly condition of bath house, pool area, and other department facilities
- Maintains order and discipline and oversees activity in dressing rooms, meeting rooms, recreational rooms and other areas while patrons are using facilities
- Sweeps, mops, cleans, and hoses down showers, dressing room floors, and pool decks
- Cleans, sweeps, and picks up litter in surrounding work areas
- Maintains proper records of a routine nature
- Works with maintenance and recreation personnel as needed
- Performs related work as required
- Working knowledge of routine cleaning, cleaning equipment, recreational equipment and materials, and of shower operations
- Knowledge of rules and regulations governing conduct of facility users
- Some knowledge of first aid.
- Ability to enforce facility rules and regulations firmly, tactfully, and impartially
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to perform manual tasks requiring some physical exertion
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other personnel and the general public
- Experience in custodial and recreational work preferred
