What are the responsibilities and job description for the TOLL BOOTH ATTENDANT position at City of Springfield?
This is a public contact work of a routine nature at an assigned municipal park. Work involves responsibility for the performance of a routine cashiering, clerical, custodial nature at a municipal park. Work is performed in accordance with well established procedures, rules, and regulations under the supervision of the Springfield Park Department’s Deputy Superintendent of Recreation. No supervision is exercised over other employees.
- Greet Public and sells tickets and provides general and specific information to park patrons.
- Assist in the enforcement of compliance with departmental rules and regulations pertinent to the use of the assigned facility.
- Accounts for fees collected, keeps clerical records of a routine nature.
- Assists in opening the facility on a daily basis.
- Opens toll booth and prepares for the necessary cash activities that will occur during the day.
- May perform routine custodial work at assigned facility.
- Preforms related duties as required.
- Working knowledge of the methods and techniques of cashiering.
- Ability to make simple arithmetical computations and reports.
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working regulations with fellow employees and the general public.
- Ability to assist in the enforcement of rules and regulations firmly, tactfully, and impartially.
- Ability to perform routine custodial tasks, patrol tasks, or routine laboring tasks.

Ability to become proficient in assigned tasks within a reasonable period of time.
Graduation from a standard high school or vocational school preferred
Experience in customer service and/or cashier work preferred
