The purpose of this position is to assist the Camp Coordinator and Teachers with planning, organizing and implementing Art Camp as well as two summer art events as a Foundry ambassador.
2025 Foundry Art Camp is scheduled for 8 weeks beginning on June 2 and ending the week of July 28. There will be no camp the week of June 30. Staff orientation will be Sunday, May 18.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete required internship hours between, May 18 and August 2
- Be available in the summer M-F, 8:30am-3:30pm camp orientation (May 18 at 10am)
- Prepare and organize appropriate materials and supplies for each day's projects and activities
- Assist Instructors with camper supervision. Refer all discipline problems to group Teacher & Camp Coordinator
- Assist with special events and Foundry Block Party (June 14)
- Store and account for all equipment used and complete required cleaning
- Ask questions and seek full understanding of your assignment and/or responsibility from your immediate supervisor
- Report all missing or damaged equipment to Camp Coordinator
- Attend Staff Meetings, orientation & keep timesheet of hours for supervisor
- Keep supervisor informed of all positive or negative comments regarding the program, staff/volunteer, children, general public, and facilities
- Act as an ambassador to the Foundry
- Perform additional duties assigned to insure the success of the entire Educational program
Knowledge and Ability
- Ability to organize, plan and execute detailed events
- Ability to lift and move program materials as well as escort campers to lunch in Frontier Park
- Must be comfortable being outside
- Ability to communicate effectively
Minimum Training and Qualifications Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
- Must enjoy art, working with children, and have a positive attitude
- Previous experience working with children preferred
- Must be at least 16 years of age or older
