The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.
- Inspects construction at approved sites at various stages of construction for compliance with approved plans and code standards, issues notices of violation in instances of non-compliance.
- Prepares documentation for legal review in cases of continued non-compliance and submits documentation.
- Receives notices of violations and conducts inspections.
- Maintains records of inspections and other work performed and compiles data.
- Interprets codes for local applications and provides information to the public.
- Performs related work as assigned.

Must possess and maintain a valid Florid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
