At River’s Edge Convention Center, we pride ourselves on creating memorable experiences for our guests and ensuring the smooth operation of our events. From large-scale conventions to intimate gatherings, our facility is a hub of activity, and we’re looking for a dedicated Operations and Maintenance Technician II to join our team and help us deliver top-notch service.
As an integral part of our team, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the center are operational and well-maintained. This role requires flexibility and a willingness to work significant night and weekend shifts around scheduled events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs interior and exterior building maintenance and grounds-keeping activities;
- Performs set- ups and take downs for events and shows, ensuring all tasks are completed according to event work order as directed;
- Serves as a liaison between the Center and user groups by adjusting staging, lighting, audio-visual, electrical, public address systems, heating and cooling systems and related needs for events;
- Prepares records and reports relating to events and the operation and maintenance of equipment, building, and grounds;
- Oversees electrical, AV, and equipment rental floor orders, identifies appropriate fee, collects and receipts fees;
- Oversees and monitor events as assigned;
- Assists in determining patron and employee safety measures;
- Assist with custodial duties as needed;
- Assists with snow removal, and recycling;
- Monitors and enforces operational procedures and policies;
- Assists with Convention Center Food Service and Concession Services as needed;
- May be assigned to similar work at related facilities – Municipal Athletic Complex and Park and Recreation Department;
- Performs related work as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma.
- Two years’ experience in maintaining municipal buildings, commercial structures, and/or hospitality facilities.
- Valid Minnesota issued driver’s license that is unrestricted except for corrective lenses, or able to attain one by appointment.
