Job Summary
Provides childcare for children of members of the REC Center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervises youth in activity room.
- Participates with youth in a variety of games and activities.
- Assists in program activities.
- Maintains a safe, clean environment.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs light cleaning duties of activity room.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Patience in dealing with children.
- Energetic and friendly.
- Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR - infant & child preferred.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with co-workers and the public.
- Ability to follow instructions and perform tasks with minimum supervision.
- Prior experience babysitting or working with children in a recreation setting preferred.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
Material and Equipment Directly Used
Operates a variety of games and equipment used in youth activities. Cleaning supplies used in light custodial and maintenance duties. There may be times when use of personal vehicle may be required.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
Majority of work performed in an office setting with a controlled environment, involving periods of sitting. Physical activity includes prolonged standing, bending, stooping, lifting, walking and uses arms and hands frequently. Must have the ability to lift objects weighing up to 10 pounds and assist in lifting objects weighing in excess of 20 pounds. Some overnight or day travel may be required for business purposes. Vacation and other leave scheduling shall be requested of and approved by the appropriate supervisor.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Passing of a drug screening required prior to appointment.
