About the position
With an emphasis on utility locating, employee will perform locates on water main, sewer main, stormwater main, electric lines, manholes and other infrastructure as need by Gopher State One Call system. Respond to after-hours emergencies and essential tasks as needed in all areas of maintenance. Perform various types of manual labor and operate equipment in all areas of public works or parks and recreation.
Wage listed is based on a maximum base wage of $40.23 plus $2.66 water and sewer certification pay.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Perform utility locates as dictated by Gopher State One Call system. Update and maintain city utility maps. Manage utility locate projects throughout construction season.
2. Perform a variety of maintenance and repair services on utilities.
- Jet sanitary and storm sewer lines.
- Sewer line, manhole and catch basins maintenance and repair.
- Install and remove meters, regulators, test or usage recording equipment.
- Operate fire hydrants and perform water system repair in emergency situations.
3. Snow removal of public streets, alleys, sidewalks, trails, bridges and right-of-way using plowing, blowing and shoveling.
4. Operate and maintain equipment in a proficient manner as it relates to maintaining the integrity of the city's infrastructure systems. Report equipment problems to appropriate staff minimizing equipment downtime.
5. Required to carry the "On Call" operations phone for the duration of 7 days on a rotating schedule assigned by the manager and respond to after hour emergencies when notified.

Minimum Qualifications
Physically perform essential functions and requirements of the position, including the ability to operate equipment / tools needed and work year-round in either an outdoor or indoor environment including extreme temperatures for extended lengths of time.
